It's taboo to say anything positive about terrorists. But it's blind to not recognize their positive traits.
Osama Bin Laden is fearless and intelligent. And, as misguided as he may be, I believe that he is trying to make this world a better place.
And that's more than I can say for the American leaders who never hesitate to fatten their wallets.

The balance of power in the world is strongly skewed toward the United States Military. The sovereignty of "rogue states" is being threatened based on those state's resources. The USSR isn't there to check US power anymore. It's clear to me that the EU is being forced to unite in an attempt to counter the US on foreign policy.
The argument I'm trying to raise is that the US was founded on the importance of seperation of power. Here it is today absorbing all the power it can, either from its own people or from foreigners.
The attacks by Osama have brought attention to this inbalance of power to the people of the world. In the US, the reasons for the attacks have been propagandized. The US government says they hate us because we are free?
The attack on Iraq was to leverage OPEC. If Osama is trying to wake the US public up as to what our government is really motivated by, then I think he is trying to make the world a better place.

I agree with the motion because e all have our opinions and like everyone else Osama Bin Laden is entitiled to an opinion. There is no massive difference between making the world a better place by force and making the world a better place by diplomacy.

That depends on the type of diplomacy. Some types come in the form of force. NAFTA and GATT are more about force than free trade. I would prefer peaceful free trade over force or diplomacy. By reducing government influence over these issues.

Chamberlein tried appeasement, to talk peacefully. Look at the result.

He is certainly extremely dedicated to his philosiphy. He is incredibly misguided, but he is doing what it is that he believes is right.

Bin Laden is trying to improve the life for his favorite people. He is not trying to improve life for everybody. He operates on a Win-Lose scenario, in which he makes things better in one area while making things worse in another.

The main idea behind the Al-Quaeda is the overthrow of Saudi's royal family by an other faction. It is clearly personal political interest that guides him.

Osama bin laden is an evil man who believes in killing women and children to achieve his goals. He is an unhonorable coward a sissy. He hates America and jews and wants to spread sharia law to subjugate women. He is insane and evil and doesn't understand how the world works.

There is a big difference between thinking you're doing the right thing and actually doing the right thing.
But who knows what is 'the right thing' ?
I believe the right thing consists of:
1. trying to limit and lessen hurting of all human beings(physical/psychological/em otional) as much as is possible.
2. in the context of decision-makeing, I believe 'doing the right thing' is making decisions based on facts and rational thinking while not letting emotions, subjective experience and faith (wether religious or ideology) get in the way of your thinking.
3. Not discriminating any group (gender/age/race/faith) because of some irrational (mostly undefendable in face of reason and questioning) reason, or because of your faith.
So given this definition (suggestions and constructive criticism is much appreciated) is Osama bin Laden doing the right thing ?
Q. Is Osama bin Laden trying to limit and lessen hurting as described above ?
A. No, it does not seem like he is looking at the facts of his acts.
Q. Is Osama bin Laden basing his decisions on logic and facts ?
A. No, it seems like he is basing his decisions on his faith and/or ideology and emotions.
Q. Is Osama bin Laden makeing sure he doesn't discriminate any group ?
A. No. He is deliberately discriminating women and people of no faith or other faiths.
So is Osama bin Laden doing the right thing ?
No. Given my definition, he is absolutely not doing the right thing.
