I think it depends on the enforcement. When cops brag 'I can pull over any car I want and find probable cause', then the entire authority structure has been degenerated. The authority we issued to government will have been derailed by overzealousness cutting their usial corners. But if I am required to restrain myself within laws we all agree with, I just see government force as an extension to that agreement. We would (on paper), be in authority over ourselves via their services. Well your statement makes me rethink. :) But in terms of property, if I had the right to opt out without building inspectors and social engineers following me, I would feel a lot better about trusting them to stay within authoritarian bounds. Just stumbled onto this site from somewhere on slashdot. Great idea! I was just on BBC trying to get posted, but between `moderation` and ameriphobia, I'm 1 post for 8 tries.
